Description
Fire Fighting / Rapid Intervention:
The Red Sled was originally designed to remove a fire fighter during a Rapid Intervention Scenario. This design incorporated the dimensions of an SCBA bottle. This enables us to place the fire fighter on top of the Red Sled while he is wearing his air pack and the spare air pack is stored within.
. Compensates for physically demanding situations
. Increases the effectiveness of all personnel during any incident
. Multiplies personal effectiveness
. Reduces fatigue and shortens exposure times
The Red Sled can contain the RIT equipment inside as well as other equipment on top
. 10 SCBA bottles
. Concrete and Chain Saws
. Ventilation Equipment
. Hydraulic Power Unit, Jaws on top and the Ram and Cutter inside
How many personnel on scene are dedicated for Rapid Intervention? Do we have the necessary manpower to safely provide a capable back up team for Rapid Intervention? How will we provide extra manpower after a catastrophe has occurred?
According to Pheonix fire department it takes between six and ten RIT personnel to remove a downed firefighter at the end of a 200′ foot hose line. Depending on the level of victim entrapment the time can vary between 30-45 minutes.
Testing of the Red Sled
• Two Personnel are able to bring all necessary equipment
• Remove the victim in the above scenario in 9 to 15 minutes using less than 50% of the rescuers air capacity
LITTER ACCOMMODATIONS : The Red Sled can be used as an all terrain low profile stretcher in conjunction with military cots, stokes basket, back boards or skedco litters . This allows your equipment to be mission adaptable not mission specific.
AERIAL DEPOLYMENT PALLET: The Red Sled can be converted from an all terrain equipment cart, into a multi-purpose aerial pallet by attaching webbing or stokes basket harnesses to the pre installed U-Bolts. Once applied, tools and equipment can be raised or lowered into any environment by crane or helicopter. Having our equipment lowered to the rescue personnel will prevent severe injuries due to the fall hazards, exposed rebar and loose concrete.
